Professional felting needles triangular
Felting needles are industrial needles, used in commercial wool felt production, and felting artists have adopted these needles for hand felting. Felting needles are available in a range of sizes, but many are for commercial machine use, so I do not stock them all. Each needle has a different function and these are split into 3 common types:
Triangular, Star and NEW Spiral felting needles. Each needle has a coloured tip to show which gauge it is (the higher the gauge the finer/ smaller the diameter of the needle, and the smaller the barbs). As your wool gradually firms up, you will need to continue changing to a finer/smaller sized needle.
Triangular Needles: Have three sides with regularly spaced barbs.
36 Gauge Green: Good starter needle for outlines, shaping and joining. Felts very quickly to speed up early stages of felting.
38 Gauge Red: Good for starting, firming up and shaping. A good all round needle.
40 Gauge Blue: Good all round, and during mid stages. For adding detail and for finishing.
42 Gauge Gold: The best needle for finishing. Leaves hardly any poke holes. For finishing touches, working with a few wisps of wool, adding finishing touches.
This listing is for the Triangular needles only - available in 3 sets: Set of 3, 6 or 12 of the same gauge and type of needle.
PLEASE NOTE: Felting needles are incredibly sharp and are not recommended for children under the age of 10. Please ensure that they are used under adult supervision only.
