British breed wool is simply wonderful to felt with but is often under-appreciated - we buy imported wool/ fibres instead of trying our own and this is truly a shame.

I love British wool and I have tried and tested many different breeds and chosen the best of these for you, ones that I use in most of my creations. I recommend that you test different breeds to find the ones that work best for you.  All will felt really well but will give you different finishes.

The higher the micron count the coarser the wool and the lower the micron count the finer the wool. Courser fibres create coarser finishes, but felt aster than finer wools/fibres,  and can also be great as a core wools. Finer fibres give smoother finishes, but take longer to felt.

There are 10 lovely colours to choose from, each comes sealed in a bag to prevent the fibres getting damaged. Each single large bag contains between 30 to 35 grams of natural wool (usually over a metre of roving in length) - see specific details next to colours.

Bluefaced Leicester - available in white, soft brown and medium brown (26 micron)

Shetland - available in soft grey, medium brown and soft brown (29-31 micron).

Jacob - available in white and soft grey (33-35 micron).

Herdwick - available in soft grey and medium grey (about 40 micron).

MULTI BAG OFFERS- see shop listings if you would like to order more than one colour as I offer a great range of multi-bag deals.

I have tried to represent the colours as best possible and to give you an accurate description, but please note that the colours shown may vary slightly - as this will depend on what kind of device you are viewing this listing on.
